We are assembling a welding crew for a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) decommissioning project , commencing November 2025 with expected completion around March/April 2026. This is a unique large-scale infrastructure project requiring skilled Flux Core Welders to join a high-performing team. The Roles We are recruiting multiple Flux Core Welders for both day and night shifts (12 hours each). Roster pattern: 6 shifts in every 8 days All welding is performed underground , with fume extraction systems in place. Workers must supply their own PAPR respirator. Welding jackets and three work shirts will be provided. Welding Test Scope: 25mm mild steel 1.2mm MIG & Flux Cored Wire MIG root, flux core fill and cap Testing includes: 3 Butt Welds – horizontal downhand, vertical up, overhead 1 Fillet Weld – overhead What We’re Looking For Cert III trade qualified welders preferred (not essential) Coded/ticketed welders encouraged Highly suitable for candidates with mining, tunnelling, or heavy industrial experience Strong flux core experience in structural/heavy fabrication Must be able to work safely in an underground environment Own PAPR respirator required White Card mandatory; extra tickets an advantage Visa welders may be considered (extra approvals required) Sydney-based only – no FIFO/DIDO What’s on Offer $52ph overtime penalties $5ph Site Allowance 12-hour shifts Weekly earnings $5,500–$6,500 Work on a major Sydney infrastructure project Welding jackets and shirts supplied How to Apply If you’re an experienced Flux Core Welder — especially with a mining or heavy industry background — and can supply your own PAPR respirator, apply now to secure your position on this project.
